The function of this position is to consult, advise, train, and provide technical assistance to school boards, school administrators, all food service personnel, residential child care institutions, public and non-profit agencies, and interest groups concerning the administration and operation of all Child Nutrition and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food Distribution (School and Household Commodities) Programs. The position provides training related to and assesses the ordering, receipt, storage, use, and disposal of USDA commodities. The position functions as a consultant completing and overseeing a variety of assignments pertaining to USDA Food Distribution Programs, including the interpretation of federal regulations and policies as they relate to these programs.
